| Jacksonville Jacksonville is
located in northeastern Florida and is
along the St. Johns River near its mouth
on the Atlantic Ocean just south of the
Georgia border. It is the states
most populous city with a population being
over 800,000 and the largest city in the
contiguous United States in land area.
It has a humid subtropical climate with
great year-round weather. The winters
are mild and summers are warm with plenty
of sunshine. Because of Jacksonvilles
unique geography it is the city in Florida
that is the least likely to experience
severe storms during the hurricane months.
Jacksonville has over 5 million visitors
a year that come to enjoy the miles of
beaches, beautiful weather, golf courses
and tennis facilities, sporting events,
and wonderful unique shopping, dining
and nightlife and entertainment.
Jacksonville has over 57,000 acres of beautiful parks and state
and federal land for biking and hiking
to playgrounds for the kids. There are
also many festivals and cultural events,
historic sites and architecture, a riverfront
festival marketplace and many river cruises
to take.
Jacksonville is a great place to live because it is the most affordable
city in Florida and the cost of living
has consistently been lower than the national
average. Housing and utilities are known
as the best bargain in the US and there
is a wide variety of different style homes
and prices in condominiums, patio homes,
and single-family homes. |
